Our mission at Scrapyard is to cultivate a strong community connected by the shared climbing experience. A space where you can stay active, challenge yourself, engage, and grow with others beyond the climbing wall.

What We Value

Welcoming Community

We are a third-space that isn’t work or home. Scrapyard is a place for you and your friends (new and old) to connect in a supportive and non-judgmental way. When you are at Scrapyard, you belong. Find your people here.

Education

Come at any experience level, and we’ll have your back. Our team is here to teach you what you need to know, while always providing support along the way. We believe growth occurs through challenge, and we’re not afraid to push you while we equip and encourage you.

Shared Experiences

When we come together by the challenges and rewards of climbing, we grow together. As we push past preconceived limits and stretch ourselves, we find opportunities for connection.

Accessibility

Climbing is for everyone. That’s why at Scrapyard we try to keep climbing as accessible and affordable for everyone. We provide community programs, financial support, and great pricing.

Working at Scrapyard

If you’ve spent any time around Scrapyard, you know that we are more than a climbing gym. Community is central to our existence and that is not by accident. We believe that rock climbing provides a unique context for connecting people, helping them to stretch limits and achieve new things collaboratively. We call our gym a collective because we truly embrace the idea that we are better together. Our community is amazing and full of a variety of people with many different expectations and goals. That makes our collective beautiful and messy at times. No small part of that is felt, fielded, and facilitated by our staff members. If you are inspired by the idea that people are central to our work and you want to be a part of making that happen, then you might be a great fit for our team.

If you think working at Scrapyard sounds like a fun and easy way to get paid while doing your hobby, then you’re probably coming at this from the wrong direction for us. We would recommend just making climbing your hobby and not your work.

If you are curious about and up for the challenges involved in facilitating the community that we’ve cultivated and are willing to invest your time and energy into it, then we’d like to hear from you.
